It decomposes when heated, gradually losing crystalline water to become anhydrous magnesium sulfate.
Product Applications
Mainly used in fertilizers, tanning, printing and dyeing, catalysts, papermaking, plastics, ceramics, pigments, matches, and the manufacturing of fireproof materials. It can be used for dyeing fine cotton fabrics and silk, as a weighting agent for cotton and silk, and as a filler for kapok products. In medicine, it is used as Epsom salt.
